Introduction
My name is Adam Thomas, and I am based in London, UK. I am currently pursuing an MA in Cultural, Intellectual, and Visual History at the Warburg Institute. My research focuses on the history of astrology, with particular attention to the influence of Arabic and Classical works during the late medieval and early modern eras. My dissertation examines the prognostications of John Ashenden, a 14th-century English astrologer affiliated with Merton College, Oxford. Ashenden specialised in mundane astrology and skilfully synthesised Arabic and Greek astrological traditions.
Alongside my academic work, I am a practicing astrologer specialising in traditional astrology, you can see my Credentials below. I have an emphasis on Hellenistic and medieval Islamicate methods. I use the Whole Sign and Alcabitius house systems, as well as the Tropical Zodiac. While I focus primarily on the traditional seven planets and their rulerships, I use the outer planets sparingly. I’ll guide you through everything as we go.

Credentials
I have studied Astrology since 2020, I am interested in ‘traditional’ astrology: Hellenistic (200 BCE—800 CE) Medieval (800-1400 CE) and Renaissance (1300-1600). I feel it is important to understand the foundations and roots of astrological practice from their original sources and explore this rich history that has been such an influential part of the different cultures around Europe, the Middle East and North Africa that have made up ‘Western’ civilisations over the centuries.
I completed the Hellenistic Astrology Course by Chris Brennan of The Astrology Podcast in May 2024.
I have been following the work of Dr. Ali A Olomi since 2021, diving into his work on translating and teaching the techniques from the medieval Islamicate tradition. I apply his teachings in my Natal and Forecast readings, as well as my ongoing work with World Astrology, which you can find in the Writings section of this website.
I follow the work of the exponents of the revival of the Hellenistic and Medieval Traditions. My Hellenistic practice is rooted in the work of Chris Brennan, Benjamin Dykes, Robert Schmidt & Demetra George, who have been at the forefront of reviving the Hellenistic Tradition. I also follow the translation project of Levente Lazlo (Horoi Project), and have studied the translations work James Holden. My Medieval practice is rooted in the translations and teachings of Benjamin Dykes and Ali A Olomi, both of whom are active translators and teachers of the Medieval Latinate and Islamicate traditions which continued and developed the earlier traditions and techniques.
Studying for my MA at the Warburg (2024-2027) has opened my eyes to the rich and engaging academic world around the history of astrology and occult sciences. I count myself lucky to be in connection with a number of highly esteemed scholars and researches who all share the same passion for uncovering the history of astrology and the occult sciences. I am fortunate to have my MA dissertation supervised by Emeritus Professor Dr Charles Burnett, whose influential work and translations on the reception of Arabic science in Latin Europe have been a continual source of inspiration.
Methods & Techniques
I use Whole-Sign Houses and the Tropical Zodiac. I mainly use the traditional seven planets and the traditional rulership scheme, using the outer planets sparingly.
The in-depth Natal Reading uses Hellenistic techniques, this reading is a focused look at your natal chart, exploring planetary placements, house rulers and the unique signatures in your chart. We will also use timing methods and transits to help situate the reading.

The Forecast Reading uses Hellenistic and Medieval timing techniques to gain insight into the year ahead as well as the largest chapters of your life. The Year Book is a more in-depth and expansive version of the Forecast Reading. Before I began offering live consultations, I prepared extended written forecasts for close friends and family. This written format has deep roots in the Arabic tradition, where astrologers would compose annual prognostications for princes, sultans, and other patrons. It also reflects the practice of university astrologers in the medieval period, who were often required to present yearly predictions.
This format allows me to fully apply a wide range of traditional techniques—many of which would be too detailed to explore within a single consultation. However, due to the time and care involved in crafting each report, the Year Book is a more exclusive offering, with limited availability and a higher price point.

Consultation Policies
My Approach
I offer astrological consultations informed by the traditions of Hellenistic, Medieval, and Renaissance astrology. Each consultation is prepared individually using established astrological techniques and is intended to provide thoughtful interpretation, personal insight, and an opportunity for reflection.
My aim is to provide a professional, respectful, and confidential environment in which clients can explore the symbolism of their birth chart and the timing techniques of traditional astrology.
The Nature of Astrology
Astrology is an interpretative discipline. While it has a long intellectual and cultural history, it is not a scientifically established method of prediction. No consultation or written report should be understood as guaranteeing particular events or outcomes.
Consultations and reports are intended to assist reflection and understanding. Any decisions made following a consultation remain entirely the responsibility of the client.
Astrological consultations do not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, tax, investment, or other regulated professional advice. Where appropriate, clients should seek advice from a suitably qualified professional.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed during a consultation is treated in confidence.
Information disclosed during consultations will never be shared with third parties except:
where required by law;
where necessary to protect the safety of an individual; or
where you have given your explicit consent.
To respect the privacy of others, consultations are provided only for the individual who has booked the appointment. I do not undertake detailed chart interpretations for another identifiable person without their knowledge and consent.
Booking Appointments
Appointments are arranged through Calendly, allowing you to select an available appointment time.
Consultations are conducted via Zoom unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.
With your consent, consultations will be recorded. A copy of the recording will be provided for your personal use. Recordings are retained securely for a limited period before being permanently deleted.
Payment
Payment is required in advance to confirm your appointment.
Invoices or payment requests are issued through PayPal unless another payment method has been agreed.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge provided at least 48 hours' notice is given.
Where less than 48 hours' notice is provided, refunds cannot normally be offered.
If you are unable to attend without prior notice, I will normally offer one opportunity to reschedule your appointment. Repeated missed appointments or repeated late cancellations may result in the consultation fee being forfeited.
Should I need to cancel or postpone your appointment due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered either an alternative appointment or a full refund.
Written Reports
Estimated delivery times for written reports are provided at the time of booking. Every effort is made to deliver reports within the stated timeframe, although occasional delays may occur due to research requirements or workload.
Age Requirement
Consultations are available to clients aged 18 years or over.
Where a consultation is requested for someone under the age of 18, it must be arranged by a parent or legal guardian, whose consent is required.
Acceptance
By booking a consultation or commissioning a written report, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Consultation Policies together with my Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.
Terms of Service
1. Nature of the Service
Astrological consultations and written reports are provided as interpretative services based upon the principles and techniques of traditional astrology.
While every consultation is prepared carefully and in good faith, no guarantee is given regarding the occurrence of future events or the achievement of any particular outcome.
2. Professional Advice
My services are not intended to replace professional advice.
Nothing contained within a consultation or written report should be interpreted as medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, tax, investment, or other regulated professional advice.
Clients should seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional where necessary.
3. Client Responsibility
Clients remain solely responsible for any decisions or actions taken following an astrological consultation.
4. Intellectual Property
Written reports, educational materials, recordings, and all original content produced during the course of a consultation remain my intellectual property unless otherwise stated.
They are supplied for the personal use of the client and may not be reproduced, published, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.
5. Limitation of Liability
Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion would be unlawful under the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to that limitation, my liability arising from any consultation or written report shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the relevant service.
I shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from reliance upon an astrological consultation or written report.
6. Consumer Rights
Nothing within these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
